Anna Faris wedded to Robin Williams comedy
Posted by Jennifer on November 17, 2009

“Scary Movie” actress Anna Faris is in negotiations to star as Robin Williams’ daughter in “Wedding Banned,” a Disney romantic comedy.

“Banned” revolves around a long-divorced couple who kidnap their daughter (Faris) on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did. The parents rekindle their relationship as they elude cops and the angry groom.

Williams is on board as the father; the mother has not been cast. The project has no director attached.

Faris recently signed to star with Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake in “Yogi Bear” for Warner Bros. She can be heard in Sony’s animated “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.”

Reynolds, Faris to get ‘TMI’
Posted by Jennifer on November 17, 2009

Universal Pictures has acquired “TMI,” a comic vehicle for Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris. Pic becomes one of the first purchases made by the new U regime of Adam Fogelson and Donna Langley.

Scripted by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Marc Klein, the comic premise is that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, “too much information” might not be the best thing.

Andrew Panay (“Old Dogs”) will produce with Jonathon Komack Martin, latter of whom partners with Reynolds in Dark Trick Films. Reynolds will be executive producer.

Fogelson and Langley were upped to the chairman and co-chair posts at U last month, replacing Marc Shmuger and David Linde (Daily Variety, Oct. 6). The shakeup came on the heels of a series of box office misfires for the studio.

Reynolds, who is coming off “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “The Proposal,” next stars as the title character in the Martin Campbell-directed “Green Lantern.”

“TMI” is a possible candidate to follow that superhero effort.

Dan Aykroyd and Anna Faris are in negotiations to star in “Yogi Bear,” a live-action/animated feature take on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Faris will play a nature documentarian who follows the antics of a bear in fictional Jellystone Park. Aykroyd will voice Yogi, and Justin Timberlake could supply the voice of Yogi’s constant companion, Boo Boo.

The project is set up at Warner Bros., which hopes to start production in New Zealand next month. Eric Brevig will direct.
